It was after noon this Sunday when I felt starvation setting in. I remembered there were some Checkers Rally's Seasoned Fries still left in the freezer, and a can of Hormel's Chili with Beans in the pantry. There was also enough cheddar and pepper jack cheese in the refrigerator to shred and add to the thrown together recipe of jalapeno chili cheese fries.
I put the fries in the 425 degree oven for 25 minutes first, and then heated up the chili in a pot on the stove, and fixed up the chili with added worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, sugar, and black/chipotle pepper blend, all in amounts to taste (add however much or little you like), and shredded enough of the cheddar and pepper jack cheese that I had to add once things were ready.
There were also some hot and sweet jalapenos to put on top, once the other items were done. I took the fries out of oven when they were ready and piled them up in the tray with a spatula, next poured the chili over the fries, then spread the shredded cheese around, then placed a few jalapenos on top of the cheese, and put the whole thing back in the oven for a few more minutes to make sure the cheese was melted good.
Starvation avoided, and since I only ate a quarter of what was prepared, before doing the dishes I'd messed up, there will be leftovers for dinner... :P
Dessert will consist of a few antacid tablets.
