Pineapple tops...

Since my ma began her chemotherapy, her appetite has suffered, but she does like to eat some fresh fruit, like watermelon and cantaloupe.

I had bought her a pineapple several weeks ago and she kept the top part of the plant and put it in a jar of water, placed in the kitchen near a window where it could get some sunlight. 

The plant has done well there, but the roots were getting longer than the jar, so she finally put it in a pot with some soil, next to the front door.  We'll have to see if it'll thrive/survive from there...
