Not all the forums I've joined have challenge coins, many have other forum labeled gear, like flashlights and pocket knives, but the coins, patches, and stickers are usually in the affordable range for showing support for places where you might spend a lot of time online, outside of yearly membership fees that some have for expanded forum access, like usage of buy/sell/trade areas.
Many forums even have local get togethers for those that share similar interests, and I've had the chance to meet a few fellow forumites from some of the different forums, when I've made it up to the Blade Show, held in Atlanta each year.
